What is MDM?

Mobile device management (MDM) is a software-based security in the IT industry. It is used for the monitor, manage and provide administration on mobile devices, such as smartphones, laptops and tablet computers and other endpoint devices. MDM is also providing you an extra layer of security features for employees who uses end devices. In normal words, we can say controlling devices is a feature of MDM, it does not matter from where we are accessing is in intranet on the internet.

Why is it Popular Nowadays?

MDM is used by many companies to keep a check on business operations and employees ‘activities when they are using their own or company provided end devices for business purposes. MDM can manage and secure mobile devices at work that is deployed across multiple operating systems and different service providers.  We can also use mobile devices for performance, management, synchronization and sharing of data files. These days adoption of smartphones and tablets is increasing because the numbers of employees who are working from home or other non-traditional locations are also increasing. MDM is best solution for BYOD (Bring your own device also called bring your own technology (BYOT)
